How do I remove a password from a PDF?
Drop the file here, type the password you normally use to open it, and download the unlocked copy. From then on it opens without asking.
Can it unlock a PDF if I don’t know the password?
No. You need the password that opens the file. The tool removes it so you don’t have to type it every time; it does not guess or crack passwords.
Is my password or file sent anywhere?
No. Both the file and the password stay inside your browser tab and are gone when you close it.
What is a restricted PDF?
Some PDFs open without a password but block printing, copying or editing. Unlock PDF removes those restrictions as well.

Ask for the password
The tool checks the file first and only asks for what it needs. A file that simply has printing or copying restrictions opens without a password, so it skips straight to one button.
A wrong password keeps you in place: the field stays focused with your attempt selected, so fixing a typo is one keystroke instead of starting over.
